Our
Story
Born and raised here in Cleveland, Chef Chris Wolf is the embodiment of what hard work, passion, and creativity deliver. With over 20 years of experience in food and beverage ranging from country clubs, hotels, resorts, and independent restaurants as well as competitions that have taken him all over the world. Chef Chris draws upon these experiences that are new, fresh, and fun to keep his diners, his pack, engaged and coming back time and time again.
Why the name?
We get that question a lot. Our last name is Wolf - so that’s where it started. We came up with “Create the Wolf”, because we were trying to shape this new identity of what our restaurant will be - we were creating something from Chris’ perspective with my influence. And we both thought Wolf’s Restaurant was kinda boring. We started playing around with different stuff. A pack of wolves that howl together is called a “chorus.”
Cleveland has a rich history in the music scene, we have the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, many great music venues, some closed Like Peabody’s Down Under, some still open Grog Shop and The Agora, and we also found out that our address on Cornell, was the original site of the Agora Theatre for two years in the 1960’s.
We planned to feature some live music, and the former restaurant in our space was a jazzy type club in the 1980’s - Club Isabella. In their heyday it was quite the spot I’ve heard. Before Club Isabella, this building was a banjo studio called Goose Acres, again circling back to music. We thought how cool, Wolf Pack Chorus, to pay a sort of homage to music that has been present in and around our locations for many decades.
